Family Tree Maker Family Tree Maker This is the easiest family history software to use and thus the one that is the most popular. I use it myself for data entry and use the free ancestry.com program for some reports and online searches

Search Nearly 2 Billion Names at Ancestry.com! Ancestry.com Tons of great genealogy products and online data to subscribe to, including the US censuses. I recently took a terrific online course on German Genealogy.
